Peterborough Woman Convicted In Collision That Killed A Three-Year-Old Girl

PETERBOROUGH-There has been a verdict in the case of a motor vehicle collision on Woodglade Boulevard in Peterborough on March 23, 2023, that resulted in the death of a 3-year-old girl.

On Friday, January 24, 2025, the driver of the vehicle, a 43-year-old Peterborough woman was found guilty of careless driving causing death under the Highway Traffic Act.

At approximately 9:00am on Thursday, March 23, 2023, officers were called to a motor vehicle collision. A vehicle came off the road and struck a 3-year-old girl in the driveway of the residence.  The child was rushed to hospital with life-threatening injuries and has since succumbed to those injuries.   No one else was injured in the collision.

The Peterborough Police Service Collision Reconstruction Unit investigated and after a 5 month investigation, the charge was laid on September 6, 2023.

Sentencing will be held on February 28, 2025.
