KAWARTHA LAKES-An employee of GFL Environmental is recovering after being electrocuted while on the job in Lindsay.
Police say on the afternoon of Tuesday, January 21 a man was replacing some large dump bins behind the Giant Tiger store on Angeline Street in Lindsay when the bins made contact with some overhead wires and he was electrocuted.
The employee was taken to the hospital and was in stable condition at the time according to police.
The Ministry of Labour, Immigration, Training and Skills Development was notified of an incident that occurred in Lindsay. Officials say a ministry inspector was assigned to investigate, and it was determined that a worker suffered an electrical shock while operating machinery.
“The employer, GFL Environmental, has been issued one requirement. As the investigation is ongoing, we are unable to provide any further details at this time.” Issues Management and Media Relations, Ontario Ministry of Labour, Immigration, Training and Skills Development told Kawartha 411 News.
