KAWARTHA LAKES-Congratulations to Chrissy Molnar and Jon Thurston who are the new provincial champs!
The duo, along with coach Carl Rennick, competed this past weekend at the Wheelchair Curling Provincial Championships held in Bobcaygeon.
“It was such a great experience being able to compete at our home club,” Molnar said “All weekend long we had a great crowd of spectators cheering us on. Some we could hear from the other end of the ice.”
Both Molnar And Thurston have represented Canada on the world stage and were part of the 2024 Canadian Silver Medal winning team at the World Wheelchair Curling Championship.
“It was an honour to once again get to represent Canada on the World Stage. I’m very proud of our team’s showing at the World Championships and being able to bring home the Silver medal for Canada is a testament to all the hard work we have put in.” Thurston told Kawartha 411 News exclusively after the win in 2024.
