The City of Kawartha Lakes is under a Freezing Rain Warning with a mix of snow with freezing rain and ice pellets will continue to spread east. Precipitation is expected to taper to scattered flurries, drizzle or freezing drizzle this evening.

There is a potential for freezing drizzle through this evening and overnight as temperatures are expected to remain near the freezing mark, leading to further ice build-up on surfaces. Surfaces such as highways, roads, walkways and parking lots may become icy and slippery. Take extra care when walking or driving in affected areas. Freezing rain warnings are issued when rain falling in sub-zero temperatures creates ice build-up and icy surfaces.
