Pedestrian Struck And Killed By Train In Brighton

NORTHUMBERLAND-The Northumberland Detachment OPP is investigating an incident involving a train and a pedestrian.

On December 2, 2024, shortly after 7:00 p.m., emergency services responded to the collision which occurred in the area of the train tracks on Huff Road in Brighton.

As a result of the incident, a 28-year-old from the Municipality of Brighton, was pronounced deceased at the scene. Foul play is not suspected.

Police are continuing the investigation into the circumstances regarding the incident and are assisted by the OPP Forensic Identification Services (IDENT).

The roadway in the area was closed until approximately 1:00 a.m., on December 3, 2024, to allow for a thorough and proper investigation.
