KAWARTHA LAKES-A driver with two licence suspensions is facing new driving charges.
The City of Kawartha Lakes OPP says at approximately, 11:30p.m. on September 7th officers were patrolling Highway 35 and observed a vehicle that was travelling at a high rate of speed.
Officers stopped the motor vehicle for travelling 134km/h in a posted 80km/h zone according to police.
The driver of the motor-vehicle was found to already be on two driving suspensions. Additionally, officers reported they could detect an odour of alcohol.
Police say a roadside test was conducted, and the driver blew a warning.
As a result of the traffic stop, 32-year-old, Natasha Richardson, from Coboconk was charged with

–Â Â Â Â Â Â Driving while under suspension x 2
–Â Â Â Â Â Â Speeding over posted limit
In addition to the charges, the vehicle was impounded for 14 days, and their driver’s licence was seized.
“Speeding and impaired driving is a dangerous mixture. The OPP remains committed to taking alcohol/drug-impaired drivers off our roads through enforcement and public education. Drivers are reminded that no amount of alcohol or drugs in your system is safe when driving. If you suspect that someone is driving while impaired, it is important to call 9-1-1 to report it.” said police.
