KAWARTHA LAKES-JoAnn Gaudet has spent 35 years collecting tabs from beer and pop cans. During that time she’s collected more than 8 million of them. She’s been donating them to the Legions Tabs for Wheelchairs program which began in 1989 at the Elora Legion. The aluminum from the tabs is sold to Alcan Aluminum and the money is used to buy wheelchairs. The program has generated enough money for 3068 vets and others in need to have access to a wheelchair. Find out all about it in the video below!
