KAWARTHA LAKES-A 35-year-old Lindsay man is facing charges after two businesses were broken into in Lindsay.
On Tuesday September 3rd 2024, at approximately 4:00am Kawartha Lakes Police Service responded to an alarm call at a business in downtown Lindsay. Officers say they were able to view video surveillance from the business and further investigation revealed the identity of both suspects involved. Kawartha Lakes Police Service then received a second call regarding another business that had been broken into also in the downtown area. Video surveillance from the business showed one of the same suspects from the other break-in was also responsible for the second break and enter according to police.
Police were able to quickly locate and arrest the 35-year-old male from Lindsay. He was held for bail and charged with the following offences:
- Break, enter a Place – Commit Indictable offence X2
- Possession of Property obtained by crime under $5,000 X2
- Failure to Comply with probation X2
- Theft under $5,000
- Mischief – destroys or damages property
- Possession of Break in Instruments
Kawartha Lakes police also located the other suspect allegedly involved in the first incident, the 52-year-old male from Lindsay was arrested and charged with the following offences:
- Break, enter a Place – Commit Indictable offence
- Failure to Comply with probation X2
The accused will appear at the Ontario Court of Justice located at 440 Kent Street West in Lindsay on October 10th 2024.
