ONTARIO-A 34-year-old man who was on four release orders has been charged in a fatal crash on Highway 401.
On April 22, 2023 a fail to remain collision occurred on Highway 401 westbound at Mavis Road in the City of Mississauga. As a result of the collision, a 29-year-old male from Mississauga was pronounced deceased. The driver of the suspect vehicle fled on foot.
The OPP subsequently issued a warrant for the arrest of Shaheryar Kalim Gill from Brampton. He was arrested on August 14, 2024.
Gill is charged with the following offences:
–Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Dangerous Operation – causing death
–Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Fail to stop at accident resulting in death
–Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Fail to comply with release order x 4
–Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Fail to comply with undertaking
He appeared in the Brampton courthouse on August 15 and was remanded into custody.
