KAWARTHA LAKES-A 72-year-old Fenelon Township man is facing multiple charges after being stopped by police,
On Wednesday July 31st, 2024 at approximately 6:13pm Kawartha Lakes Police Service received a call regarding a vehicle which had just left a local business in Lindsay and the caller believed the driver was impaired. Police located the vehicle a short time later on Colborne Street in Lindsay. The 72-year-old male from Fenelon Twp was arrested and charged with the following offences:
- Operation while Impaired – alcohol and drugs
- Operation while Impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
- Driving while under suspension
- Use plate not authorized for vehicle
In addition to the charges the driver received a 90 -day driver’s licence suspension and the vehicle was impounded for 7-days.
The accused will all appear at the Ontario Court of Justice located at 440 Kent Street West in Lindsay on September 12th 2024.
