Occupant Rescued By Firefighters After Blaze In Apartment On Kent Street In Lindsay

KAWARTHA LAKES-An occupant was rescued by firefighters after an apartment fire on Kent Street in Lindsay.

The call came in around 5:30 pm on Tuesday at the Ambassador Apartments at 301 Kent Street W. Officials say the fire was contained to one unit on the second floor of the building. According to Deputy Cheif Matthews the fire originated in the kitchen. The Ontario Fire Marshal has been called in to investigate the cause.

The occupant was taken to hospital and admitted according to Matthews.

Residents of the building were evacuated while firefighters worked to contain the flames. They were allowed back into the building around 8:30 pm.

There were no other injuries.
