STEAM School Coming To Kawartha Lakes

KAWARTHA LAKES-Science, technology, engineering, art and math (STEAM) is increasingly powering our world and now local kids will have an opportunity to enhance their knowledge of STEAM.

“Through our decade of experience developing and delivering STEAM education, we’ve repeatedly heard that learners want to dive deeper into STEAM exploration,” says Ryan Oliver, founder and CEO of Pinnguaq.  “STEAM School creates this opportunity by supplementing existing education with immersive, enriched science, technology, engineering art and math programming, in a fun, hands-on way.”

Pinnquaq announced it is launching a new STEAM school, operating two days per week starting September 10, 2024. It encourages students in grades 4-6 to explore real-world challenges and apply critical thinking, as they dive into STEAM subjects.

With certified educators and small class sizes, STEAM School provides immersive, inquiry-based learning that aligns with the Ontario curriculum while providing flexibility in methodologies, allowing students to engage with content in innovative ways.

STEAM School will be held at our new 3,500 square foot Makerspace at 12 Peel Street, Lindsay, set to open in September. Caregivers can enrol their young learners (grades 4-6) for the upcoming semester now by visiting STEAMschools.ca.

Offered throughout the school year with the first semester stretching from September through December, STEAM School lets learners:

  • Advance their knowledge of STEAM subjects, building a foundation for future growth.

  • Gain a deeper understanding of our STEAM-powered world and how they can contribute to it in meaningful ways.

  • Explore their interests in an inclusive, culturally responsive community of like-minded peers, building relationships and a sense of belonging.

  • Leverage the latest learning tools, technology and resources, in an innovative learning environment.

STEAM School offers flexible attendance and enrollment options where individual days can be purchased for $65, an 8-pack of days is $60 per day and a full semester (2 days per week) is $55 per day.

Space is extremely limited. Interested parties are encouraged to enrol today to secure a spot for the Fall 2024 semester at STEAM School.
