KAWARTHA LAKES-The City of Kawartha Lakes OPP entered into an impaired driving investigation on July 12, 2024 during a routine traffic stop.
At approximately 2:35 a.m., officers conducted a traffic stop on a motor vehicle on Macal Drive in Fenelon Township resulting in the driver being charged.
Myles Zacharias, 41 year-old of Bobcaygeon, was charged with failure or refusal to comply with a Demand and drive without proper rear light.
The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Lindsay at a later date. The motor vehicle was towed and impounded for 7 days.
“If you plan on drinking or consuming drugs, plan to not drive. Instead, arrange for a designated driver, take a taxi or public transit, or come up with another plan that takes impaired driving out of the picture.” said police.
