Thousands Without Power After Crash On County Road 48 Takes Out Hydro Pole

PETERBOROUGH-Peterborough County OPP and emergency crews are currently at the scene of a single vehicle motor vehicle collision that occurred on Belmont Sixth Line between County Road 48 and Fire Route 29 at approximately 11:20am today.

Belmont Sixth Line is closed between County Road 48 and Fire Route 29 and traffic is being diverted around the area while OPP officers and emergency crews deal with the collision scene. Almost 6,000 homes are without power after a vehicle smashed into a hydro pole.

Please remain away from the area and plan alternate routes until further notice.

Belmont Sixth Line closure will remain in place while police investigate. There’s no word on injuries.
