Police Standoff In Bobcaygeon Ends With A Man Taken Away In Cuffs

KAWARTHA LAKES-An almost five-hour police standoff on Main Street in Bobcaygeon ended with a man being taken away in handcuffs.

Police were called to 129 Main Street at approximately 1:45 this afternoon. The Emergency Response Team was later called in. Heavily armed officers on the scene told Kawartha 411 there was a man barricaded in a unit with a gun. Main Street was closed from Duke Street to Prince Street. Residents in the areas were evacuated.

At approximately 6:30 a loud bang could be heard and a man was later brought out in handcuffs. He appeared uninjured.

Police have not released any details at this time.
