Disturbance At Emily Provincial Park Results In Impaired Driving Charge

KAWARTHA LAKES-The City of Kawartha Lakes OPP attended Emily Provincial Park at approximately 9:30 p.m. last night to assist the Park Wardens with a disturbance coming from one of the campsites.

Once officers arrived on scene and spoke with multiple witnesses, the person of interest returned to their campsite in their vehicle. The investigating officer entered an impaired driving investigation.

45-year-old, Misty Hilts from Hiawatha First Nations was arrested and charged with Operation while impaired- blood alcohol concentration (80 plus).

Hilts was released from custody with a future court date and served a 90-day driver’s licence suspension, and the involved vehicle was towed and impounded for seven days in accordance with the Ministry of Transportation (ADLS) guidelines.
