KAWARTHA LAKES-An 18-year-old from Oakwood is facing an impaired driving charge after police received a call about a disturbance.
On Friday June 21st, 2024 at approximately 1:10am Kawartha Lakes Police Service received a call to the area of Lindsay Street and Russell Street to report a disturbance.  Further information received, indicated that a vehicle involved had left the scene. Uniform patrol located the vehicle and stopped the vehicle in the area of Lindsay Street and Glenelg Street. The driver was arrested and charged with the operation while Impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus).
In addition to the charges the driver received a 90-day driver’s licence suspension and the vehicle was impounded for 7-days.
The accused will appear at the Ontario Court of Justice located at 440 Kent Street West in Lindsay on August 1st, 2024.
