OPP Officer Shot In The Line Of Duty Near Timmins

ONTARIO-An OPP Officer was shot and injured in the line of duty today in the Timmins area. Police say the Officer is in stable condition.

“We are supporting our Officer and their family. Our thoughts are with our injured Member and all of our Members and their families impacted by this incident.” said the OPP Association. “Our Encompas Mental Health Wellness Program is available 24/7 encompascare.ca or 1-866-794-9117. The OPP Healthy Workplace Team is also available for support.”

Police say on June 12 as a result of an interaction on an island on Night Hawk Lake in the Timmins area, an officer was injured and taken to hospital.

43-year-old Lucas Macdonald of Egan Township was apprehended and taken into custody.
