KAWARTHA LAKES-City of Kawartha Lakes OPP and emergency response services responded to a single-vehicle rollover on Summer Drive road in Little Britain on June 11th, 2024, at approximately 7:30p.m.
Police say officers located a white Acura in the ditch, the driver of the vehicle had allegedly fled the scene at this point and went to a nearby residence.
Upon speaking with the driver, the investigating officer entered into an impaired driving investigation. The driver of the vehicle suffered minor injuries.
26-year-old Desiree Stefanick from Innisfil, was arrested and charged with the following offences;
·      Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs
·      Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
·      Possession Property Obtained by Crime Over $5,000
·      Driving while under suspension
·      Careless driving
·      Novice Driver-B.A.C above zero
·      Fail to remain.
The accused was released from custody with a future court date, was served a 90-day driver’s licence suspension and the involved vehicle was towed and impounded for seven days in accordance with the Ministry of Transportation (ADLS) guidelines.
