KAWARTHA LAKES-The International Plowing Match (IPM) is coming to Kawartha Lakes’ Lindsay Exhibition this year, October 1 to 5.
“IPM is a great celebration of agriculture and rural living, which are very important parts of our community. We are hard at work planning this important event that will make a real impact on our economy and local pride,” said Deputy Mayor Charlie McDonald. The Deputy Mayor is the Chair of Visitor Experience for the event.
IPM 2024 will have a wide variety of activities, including plowing competitions, live entertainment, hundreds of vendors and exhibitors, lots of food and an RV Park.
For more information about the event, visit www.plowingmatch.org/ipm2024.
Councillor Ron Ashmore also attended the New York State Farm Show in Syracuse to let our southern neighbours know about the upcoming event
The five-day event is expected to attract over 70,000 people to Kawartha Lakes. An event of this size is impossible without volunteers and business partners. There are volunteer opportunities in horse & tractor plowing, entertainment, marketing, souvenirs, education, RV Park, wagon tours, landscaping, beautification, parking & traffic, gates, health & safety, parade, information booths, and more. Whether you have lots or little time to spare, the team can find something for you to help with on October 1 to 5.
If you’re interested in volunteering, fill out the 2024 Volunteer Application. If you have questions, please contact Deputy Mayor Charlie McDonald at cmmcdonald@kawarthalakes.ca or the Volunteer Committee at [email protected].
