Special Weather Statement Issued For Kawartha Lakes

KAWARTHA LAKES-Significant snowfall is possible Friday afternoon into Friday night in Kawartha Lakes.

Environment Canada says 5 to 10 cm of snow, with locally higher amounts possible with reduced visibility in areas of heavier snow beginning Friday afternoon and ending early Saturday morning. Light snow is expected to begin Friday afternoon, but should intensify in the evening. The snow should taper off from west to east late Friday night or early Saturday morning. Confidence in exact snowfall amounts at this point is low, although many areas may receive 5 to 10 cm of snow. Note that even higher amounts are possible for areas near Lake Ontario.

Winter weather travel advisories and snowfall warnings may be issued for some areas as the event draws nearer. Please continue to monitor alerts and forecasts issued by Environment Canada.

To report severe weather, send an email to [email protected] or tweet reports using #ONStorm.
