Winter Weather Travel Advisory Issued For Kawartha Lakes

KAWARTHA LAKES-A winter weather travel advisory is in effect for Kawartha Lakes.

Officials say brief, heavy snowfall with quick accumulations near 2 to 4 cm is possible with very poor visibility in heavy snow and blowing snow through early evening.

A sharp cold front is expected to move south through the area late this morning or this afternoon. Narrow bands of heavy flurries combined with gusty northwest winds associated with the front will lead to a relatively short but sudden drop in visibility. The front and associated bands of heavy snow are expected to clear the region later in the afternoon or early evening.

Visibility may be suddenly reduced at times in heavy snow. There may be a significant impact on rush hour traffic in urban areas. Be prepared to adjust your driving with changing road conditions.
