Fenelon Falls Resident Wins $50,000 With Ontario 49

KAWARTHA LAKES-Edward Pitre of Fenelon Falls is celebrating after winning an ONTARIO 49 second prize worth $50,000 in the February 28, 2024 draw.

Edward, a retiree, says he used to play his grandchildren’s birthdays, but now he plays Quick Picks. “I went to the store to check my ticket two days after the draw and thought something was wrong! I had to check it twice to confirm,” he shared while at the OLG Prize Centre in Toronto.

The 77-year-old went to tell his friends about his big win. “We have coffee every morning. They were very happy,” Edward smiled.

He plans to put his win toward building a deck at his cottage. “I’m feeling good,” Edward concluded.

The winning ticket was purchased at Terry’s Gas & Variety on Mississauga Street in Curve Lake.
