Two Local Men Facing Drug Charges After Traffic Stop In Lindsay

KAWARTHA LAKES-Kawartha Lakes Police Service officers conducted a traffic stop on Kent Street in Lindsay on Friday, March 15th at approximately 8:00 pm.

Police say the investigating officer recognized a male passenger in the vehicle and had knowledge of an outstanding arrest warrant for the individual.  The male was then arrested and further investigation revealed that there were drugs and ammunition in the vehicle according to police.  Police say 39 grams of Cocaine worth a street value of approximately $3900.00 and 21.9 grams of Methamphetamine worth a street value of approximately $4380.00 were seized.

As a result of the investigation a 31-year-old Norland male and a 40-year-old Bethany male were both charged with the following offences: 

  • Possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking -Cocaine
  • Possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking – Methamphetamine
  • Transport ammunition in a careless manner

The accused will both appear at the Ontario Court of Justice located at 440 Kent Street West in Lindsay.
