Skilled Trades Job Seekers And Employers Invited To VCCS Skilled Trades Day On Thursday March 21

KAWARTHA LAKES-Are you a skilled trades job seeker or employer? Check out the VCCS Employment Services Skilled Trades Day on Thursday, March 21 from 9am to 3pm at VCCS (Whitney Town Centre, 370 Kent St W, Lindsay).

This event is a platform for industry professionals, job seekers and community members to connect, network and explore opportunities in the skilled trades sector.

Skilled Trades Day promises an enriching experience with a variety of activities tailored to the needs of both employers and job seekers. Employers are invited to drop in to a complimentary breakfast between 7am and 9am. All attendees, including job seekers and employers, will get invaluable networking opportunities and a dynamic job fair promoting awareness of apprenticeships and skilled trades within our community.

The event agenda includes:

  1. Employer Breakfast (7am to 9am): An exclusive breakfast session inviting trades employers and vendors participating in the event. Attendees will have the opportunity to network and engage with fellow industry professionals in a relaxed setting.
  2. Trades Job Fair (9am to 3pm): This segment offers businesses the chance to showcase their offerings, connect with potential candidates and scout for talent to join their teams.
  3. Informational Sessions (9am to 3pm): Throughout the day, informational seminars on trades and apprenticeships provide attendees with insights into career paths, training opportunities and industry trends. These sessions are open to all participants interested in gaining a deeper understanding of the trades sector.

The Kawartha Lakes recruitment team will be in attendance to provide information on skilled trades opportunities in the municipality, such as truck and coach technicians. Stay tuned to our careers page for future opportunities.

This event is hosted by VCCS Employment Services, in collaboration with the City of Kawartha Lakes, Workforce Development Board (WDB), Literacy Ontario Central South (LOCS), Fleming Muskoka-Kawarthas Employment Services and Community Employment Resources Partnership (CERP).
