PETERBOROUGH-Police say a driver who initially contacted EMS has been charged with Impaired driving after their vehicle went in the ditch on Chemong Road.
Peterborough County OPP received a call from EMS on February 16, 2024, shortly after 9:30pm, advising of a possible impaired driver. EMS stated they were contacted by an individual who said they had been drugged while drinking at a friend’s house but then left in a vehicle.
A short time later, a concerned citizen called advising that a vehicle was in the ditch on Chemong Road and the driver, who they believed was impaired, was in the middle of the road blocking traffic.
Officers arrived on scene and took the individual into custody. As a result of the investigation, the driver was arrested.
33-year-old Joshua Henderson of Bobcaygeon, ON, was arrested and charged with:
· Operation while impaired-alcohol and drugs
The accused had their driver’s licence suspended for 90 days and vehicle impounded for seven days and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Peterborough on March 26, 2024.
