Skate With An Olympian In Bobcaygeon

KAWARTHA LAKES-Here’s your chance to learn a few tips and tricks from an Olympic figure skater.

Olympian Denise Benning will be at Tommy Anderson Park outdoor rink on February 19th from 1-2 pm weather permitting.

Denise Benning was one of Canada’s top pair skaters. With partner Lyndon Johnston, she was ranked fifth in the World from 1986 to 1988 and placed sixth at the 1988 Olympic Games in Calgary. With Johnston, Benning finished fifth at three consecutive World championships (1986, 1987, 1988) according to Olympedia.

“Looking forward to an outdoor community skate on Family Day. I’ll be there to help with a few tips and guidance,” said Benning.

The event is part of Frost Fest held in Bobcaygeon on Family Day weekend, from Feb 17-19th.

Frost Fest is designed to bring the community together and create lasting memories in the winter. Whether you’re a family with young children, a group of friends, or someone looking for a solo adventure, there’s an activity for you!
