UPDATE: Police have recovered a stolen police-issued firearm, specifically a Colt C8 rifle. The firearm was stolen from a police vehicle in Angus on February 3, 2024, in the Brentwood Road area.
The investigation into the circumstances surrounding the stolen firearm remains ongoing. More information will be released when it becomes available.
ONTARIO-Nottawasaga OPP is conducting an investigation into the theft of a police-issued firearm (Colt C8 rifle) from a police vehicle on Brentwood Road in Angus,
Police were on scene for most of the day on Sunday conducting an investigation.
The OPP is asking the public to be aware of the following
- The stolen firearm poses a risk to public safety. We urge all residents and visitors to exercise caution.
- If you encounter any suspicious activity or observe someone with a firearm, do not approach. Instead, call 9-1-1 immediately to report the sighting.
- Members of the public are advised to avoid Brentwood Road area while the search and investigation remain ongoing.
