ONTARIO-The OPP-led Joint Forces Penitentiary Squad has charged an inmate at Millhaven Institution in Kingston following a serious assault at the facility.
Correctional Service of Canada officials contacted the Penitentiary Squad on January 26 at approximately 9:30 a.m. after an inmate was reported to have been violently assaulted. The victim was transported to hospital for treatment of serious injuries caused by an edged weapon according to police.
Another inmate, Cameron Alamina, age 24, has been arrested and charged under the Criminal Code with:
- Aggravated assault – section 268
- Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose – 88
- Carrying a concealed weapon – section 90
The accused remains in federal custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Kingston on February 29, 2024.
