Kawartha Lakes Police Service Mourning The Loss Of Retired Sergeant Paul Richards

KAWARTHA LAKES-The City of Kawartha Lakes Police Service is mourning the loss of a retired member.

Police say Sergeant Paul Richards served this community that he grew up in for over 35 years. Paul was the second local officer hired in Lindsay and served the community with professionalism, integrity and bravery, said police. Sgt Richards once performed CPR on a baby and saved its life. He served as the Use of Force instructor for 20 years, and at one point, the local use of force training was recognized by the Solicitor General’s office as being the best.

“Paul treated everyone with respect and compassion. Paul was a mentor for many police officers as well as members of our community. He will be missed by many.” said police in a Facebook post.
