KAWARTHA LAKES-The City of Kawartha Lakes OPP is investigating that fire we told you about last evening.
The fire department says the family made it out safely but at least four or five family cats perished in the fire. The family has been displaced and victim services are providing assistance.
On December 19, 2023, at approximately 7:22 p.m., officers, along with City of Kawartha Lakes Fire and Rescue, were dispatched to a house fire on Elm Tree Road near Cambray. The home was fully engulfed when crews arrived. The home remains standing but has been gutted according to the fire department.
