Woman Charged With First-Degree Murder After Police Called To Residence In Lakefield

PETERBOROUGH-A 26-year-old Peterborough woman has been arrested in connection with a homicide in Lakefield Friday.

At approximately 1:30pm on November 10, 2023, officers were called to a residence in the Queen Street and Burnham Street area.

On scene, officers located a 60-year-old Lakefield man with serious injuries. The male victim was transported to Peterborough Regional Health Centre by EMS. A short time later, the male was pronounced deceased.

A 26-year-old Peterborough woman was arrested at the scene and charged with:

  • First Degree Murder

The accused is being held in custody and will appear in court tomorrow, November 11, 2023.

There will continue to be police presence in the area as the investigation continues.
