PETERBOROUGH-A 29-year-old Peterborough man is facing charges after residents report a vehicle crashed into a parked car.

On October 24,2023, shortly after 08:30am, members of the Peterborough County OPP received a complaint of a vehicle in a business parking lot where they believed the driver to be impaired. A short time later, a second call was received by the OPP advising that a vehicle matching the description of the earlier complaint had struck a parked vehicle after leaving the business.

Jhonathan Germond of Peterborough ON, has been charged with Operation while impaired – alcohol and Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus).

The accused had their driver’s licence suspended for 90 days and vehicle impounded for seven days.

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Peterborough on November 28, 2023.

The Peterborough County OPP reminds motorists to plan ahead when consuming alcohol. Use a designated driver, cab, public transit, or stay overnight.
