KAWARTHA LAKES-Here are the changes to the municipality’s hours of operation and service schedules on Monday October 9, 2023 (Thanksgiving).
Administrative Offices
All administrative offices and Municipal Service Centres are closed on Monday October 9. Municipal Service Centres will return to regular business hours on Tuesday October 10.
Waste and Recycling
The Lindsay landfill will be closed on Monday October 9. The Fenelon landfill will be open for their regular scheduled hours on the holiday Monday from 9am to 5pm. The Eldon, Laxton and Somerville landfills will also be open from 11am to 5pm on the holiday Monday.
Please remember that all curbside waste and recycling collection will shift forward a day due to Thanksgiving:
- Monday October 9 collection moves to Tuesday October 10
- Tuesday October 10 collection moves to Wednesday October 11
- Wednesday October 11 collection moves to Thursday October 12
- Thursday October 12 collection moves to Friday October 13

Public Library
All library branches will be closed on Monday October 9, with regular operating hours returning on Tuesday October 10.
Lindsay Transit
There will be no Lindsay Transit or LIMO Specialized Transit service on Monday October 9.
Regular service will return on Tuesday October 10.
Parks and Recreation
All Parks and Recreation facilities will be closed on Monday October 9 for Thanksgiving. This includes the administrative office, all Recreation Centres, Arenas and Pools. Facilities will resume regular operating hours on Tuesday October 10.
Please note that there will be no swimming or fitness classes/lessons/programs on Saturday October 7 or Monday October 9.
Looking for something fun to do with the family this holiday weekend? Public swims will be running at the Lindsay Recreation Complex and at the Forbert Memorial Pool, Bobcaygeon on Saturday October 7 and Sunday October 8.
