Impaired Driving Charges Laid In Single Vehicle Crash In Little Britain

KAWARTHA LAKES The City of Kawartha Lakes OPP closed Beacroft Road in Little Britain for approximately 5 hours from Range Road to Zion Road for a motor vehicle collision on Saturday.

Officers responded at approximately 9:37 pm, along with Kawartha Lakes Fire and EMS, to a pick up truck that left the roadway and struck a tree on Beacroft Road according to police.

One driver of a motor vehicle has been arrested and charged.

39-year-old Derek Bond of Little Britain was charged with Operation while Impaired – alcohol and drugs and Operation while Impaired – Blood Alcohol Concentration 80 plus.

The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Lindsay at a later date. The motor vehicle was towed and impounded for 7 days.
