KAWARTHA LAKES-City of Kawartha Lakes OPP charged two people with drug trafficking related charges following an investigation at a traffic stop.
On September 9th just after 8 am a motor vehicle was stopped for a Highway Traffic Act offence and an investigation commenced, as a result the driver and passenger in the vehicle were arrested and charged.
36-year-old Mitchell Duffy of Fenelon Falls, was charged with:
- Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – Cocaine
- Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking- Other Drugs
- Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – Opioid
- Possession of Proceeds of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000 – Cash
- Obstruct Peace Officer
- Operation while Prohibited under the Criminal Code
- Fail to Comply with Probation Order
- Speeding 1-49km/h over Posted Limit
- Use Other Person’s Licence
- Fail to Surrender Permit for Motor Vehicle
The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Lindsay for a bail hearing.
36-year-old Tosha Graham Bloomfield of Lindsay, was charged with:
- Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – Cocaine
- Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking- Other Drugs
- Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – Opiod
- Possession of Proceeds of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000 – Cash
The accused was scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Lindsay at a later date and the motor vehicle was impounded for 45 days.
