Emergency Response Team Sent To Selwyn Township Residence

PETERBOROUGH-Members of the Peterborough County OPP were dispatched to a residential address in the Selwyn area regarding an assault with the possibility of a firearm being used on September 6, 2023, at approximately 7:30 a.m.

As a precaution, members of the Emergency Response Team (ERT) and Tactics and Rescue Unit (TRU) were dispatched to the area.

As a result of the investigation, 34 year old Joseph Irwin of Selwyn Township was arrested and charged with Assault.

The accused was released and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Peterborough on October 10, 2023.
