KAWARTHA LAKES-Northern Tornadoes Project (NTP) investigations have concluded that a tornado and two downbursts occurred in southern Ontario with the storms on Thursday, August 3 including a downburst in Lindsay.

NTP ground/drone surveys were completed for all three events, resulting in an EF0 rating in each case.
A Downburst rated as an EF0 hit Lindsay on August 3 at approximately 5:00 PM with an estimated maximum wind speed of 115km/h.
Wind damage to trees was reported in the Lindsay area after the storm passed through. Several homes under construction were damaged, golf ball-sized hail pelted homes and vehicles causing extensive damage and flooding occurred in some areas.
No injuries were reported.
An NTP ground and drone survey was completed on August 5, 2023, documenting the damage.
A satellite imagery review is pending.
An EF0Â tornado, with an estimated max. wind speed of 130 km/h hit Findlay Creek ON just before 7pm and an EF0 Downburst with an estimated max. wind speed of 120 km/h caused damage in Gordonville ON at approximately 9:45pm.
