Kawartha Lakes Teen Charged With Pointing A Gun And Trafficking Crystal Meth In Peterborough

KAWARTHA LAKES-An 18-year-old City of Kawartha Lakes woman is facing several charges after an incident Saturday evening in Peterborough.

At approximately 9:30pm on August 5, 2023, officers were called to Crescent Street in Peterborough about reports of an altercation between two groups of girls.  Police say upon arrival, officers learned that during the altercation several people were struck with bear spray and then the woman pulled out what appeared to be a handgun and pointed it at the other girls before fleeing into a crowd of people.  A short time later officers spotted a woman matching the description given to police.  According to police, a search of her bag revealed a replica handgun, a can of bear spray as well as 3.8 grams of crystal methamphetamine, other drugs and drug paraphernalia.

As a result of the investigation, an 18-year-old City of Kawartha Lakes was arrested and charged with:

  • Pointing a Firearm
  • Carrying concealed weapon X2
  • Possession of imitation weapon for Dangerous Purpose X2
  • Traffick in Schedule I substance – Methamphetamines (Crystal Meth)
  • Traffick in Schedule III substance- Other Drugs (LSD)

The accused was held in custody and appeared in court on Sunday, August 6, 2023
