New Automated License Plate Readers Results In Almost 20,000 Notifications To Peterborough Police In One Week

PETERBOROUGH-Peterborough Police issued a reminder today to renew your license plates and driver’s license.

Police say the newly installed Peterborough Police In-Car Camera System includes Automatic License Plate Readers. In the past week, since the launch of the system, almost 20,000 notifications have come through about expired plates.

This is still a requirement in Ontario and failing to do so could result in a $110 fine.

You can register online through the following Ontario government website: https://www.ontario.ca/page/renew-your-licence-plate#section-2
