Sexy Laundry, One Of Globus Theatre’s Best-Selling Shows Makes Triumphant Return

KAWARTHA LAKES-If you missed Sexy Laundry the first time around we have good news. The popular, best-selling show returns to the Globus Theatre stage 10 years after it debuted.

The show is described as a romantic comedy about relighting that spark!  A middle-aged couple realize that they have hit a physical plateau and, armed with a copy of Sex for Dummies they check themselves into a fancy spa hotel with a mission … to jump-start their marriage. Alice is hoping that a romantic weekend getaway at a posh hotel will not only rejuvenate their sex life but also help rekindle their deeper emotional connection.

This hilarious play proved to be so popular 10 years ago that it became one of the best-selling shows in Globus Theatre’s history.

Sexy Laundry’s lead actors are James Barrett and Sarah Quick, Artistic Producer and Artistic Director of Globus Theatre. Barrett has appeared in numerous Globus productions over the past 19 seasons, most recently in Mending Fences by Norm Foster in May. His television credits include Missing Treasures, Top Cops, Codename Eternity, Amazon, ‘D.C.’, Twice in a Lifetime, and The Eleventh Hour. Film credits include Welcome To Mooseport and Knockaround Guys. Sarah Quick along with being an accomplished actor has written and starred in numerous productions including Having Relations, Sunshine Express, The Men Commandments and Knickers!: A Brief Comedy.

“Sexy Laundry was so much fun to do the first time around that we ended up touring the production in the UK in 2013. Now, ten years later, we thought what better way to celebrate Globus’ 20th season than with a remount! It’s a comedy about a middle-aged couple but I think its themes appeal to a wide demographic – I’d recommend it to anyone who has had sex or is thinking about it” Sarah Quick (Alice)

Henry and Alice’s touching and hilarious rediscovery of themselves and their inspiring efforts to jumpstart their marriage makes for a play that is thought-provoking and laugh-out-loud funny.

The show runs at the Lakeview Arts Barn beginning June 21-July 8 as part of Globus Theatre’s 20th season.
