Carolyn Plummer Taking Leave Of Absence From Haliburton Highlands Health Services

KAWARTHA LAKES-Carolyn Plummer is taking a leave of absence from her duties as President and CEO of Haliburton Highlands Health Services. (HHHS)

Ross Memorial Hospital’s Veronica Nelson will serve as their Acting President and CEO. 

“Ross Memorial Hospital and Haliburton Highlands Health Services are both organizations that mean a great deal to me. I am excited to bring my skillset and experience to working with the HHHS Board of Directors and team members throughout the organization. I know how incredibly important HHHS and its services are to patients, residents, and the community.”  said Veronica Nelson, Acting President and CEO, Haliburton Highlands Health Services.

Nelson will be temporarily seconded from her current role as Ross Memorial Hospital Vice President and Chief Operating Officer. She will continue overseeing the Diagnostic Imaging and Laboratory Departments at both RMH and Haliburton Highlands Health Services (HHHS).

The Ross couldn’t be more confident in Veronica’s ability to support HHHS in their time of need. We also want to extend our best wishes to Carolyn Plummer as she takes care of her health.”  said Kelly Isfan, President and CEO, Ross Memorial Hospital

According to HHHS, Plummer is taking a leave of absence due to personal health issues.   

RMH and HHHS share many services, as well as the Epic Clinical Information System that has been implemented at seven partner hospitals throughout the Central East Ontario region.

  • Medical Device Reprocessing  
  • Pharmacy 

HHHS recently closed its Minden Emergency Department citing staffing shortages. Residents fought hard to keep it open but on June 1 all emergency services were consolidated into the Haliburton ED.
