Scarborough Man Charged After Bullet Hits Neighbouring Trailer At Park Near Lakefield

PETERBOROUGH-A firearm was discharged at a trailer park near Lakefield at approximately 9:30pm Wednesday night.

Police say the round entered a vacant neighbouring trailer. No one was reported as injured at the time of the incident.

This morning members of the Peterborough County OPP received a call of a firearm being discharged at a trailer park. Officers responded and upon arrival, located a male who was arrested without incident.

47-year-old Brett Bourque of Scarborough ON, has been charged with careless use of a firearm, weapon, prohibited device or ammunition and contravention of a condition of license, registration certificate or authorization.

The accused was released and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Peterborough on July 11, 2023.

The Peterborough County OPP is reminding registered firearm owners that when using your firearm, be responsible. Always be certain of your target, your line of fire, and what lies beyond your target.
