PETERBOROUGH-A 45-year-old Peterborough man is facing several charges following an online investigation.
On June 7, 2023, officers from the Peterborough Police Service ICE Unit and the OPP ICE Unit executed a search warrant at a residence in Peterborough.
As a result of a cooperative investigation between Peterborough Police, OPP, the US Department of Homeland Security and Albermarle County Police Department in Charlottesville, Virginia, a 45-year-old Peterborough man was arrested and charged with:
- Luring a Person Under 18 Years of Age by Means of Telecommunications
- Transmit Sexually Explicit Material to a Person Under 18 Years of Age
- Fail to Comply with Prohibition Regarding Children-two counts
The accused is being held in custody for a bail hearing. No name was released.
