Missing Lindsay Man Found In Heavily Wooded Area North Of Lindsay

KAWARTHA LAKES-An 87-year-old man who went missing this afternoon has been located in a heavily wooded area north of Lindsay.

Police say Emerson Fiander suffers from dementia and left a Lindsay long-term care facility earlier this morning. Mr. Fiander routinely takes extended walks, but usually returns on his own. Nursing staff at his residence, as well as his family, are concerned for his safety.

Police have conducted a search in an area at the north end of Lindsay and were assisted by the Ontario Provincial Police.

KLPS Chief Mark Mitchell tweeted that Flander had been located and is being evaluated by paramedics. He is speaking with the officers who located him.
