OPP Auxiliary Charity BBQ Raises Almost $2100

PETERBOROUGH-Members of the Peterborough County OPP Auxiliary Unit hosted their 2023 Charity BBQ with proceeds going towards Cops for CancerĀ On Saturday, May 20.

Although the weather was not the most cooperative, our Auxiliary members had a successful event raising nearly $2100, far exceeding last year’s total.

“Thanks to the support of The Lakefield Lions Club, Buckhorn Foodland, Shoppers Drug-Mart (Lansdowne), Farmboy, and Weston Bakery who were all key in making this a success.Ā As well, thank you to all that attended or just dropped something in the donation buckets. Your generosity is greatly appreciated.” said the OPP.

Cops for Cancer is one of the largest funders of pediatric cancer research in Canada. Cops for Cancer has raised millions of dollars to fund life-saving pediatric cancer research and support children with cancer and their families. Since the program’s inception, they’ve raised almost $52 million through Cops for Cancer cycling tours and fundraising events such as head shaves.
