Municipal Hours Of Operation For Victoria Day Long Weekend

KAWARTHA LAKES-Here is the municipal hours of operation and service schedules for the Victoria Day Long Weekend.

Administration Offices
All Administration and Municipal Service Centres are closed on Monday May 22. Municipal Service Centres will return to regular business hours on Tuesday May 23.

Waste and Recycling
The Lindsay Ops landfill will be closed on Monday May 22. It will return to regular operating hours on Tuesday May 23.

The Fenelon landfill will be open for their regular scheduled hours on the holiday Monday from 9am to 5pm. The Eldon, Laxton and Somerville landfills will also be open from 11am to 5pm on the holiday Monday.

Please remember that all curbside waste and recycling collection will shift forward a day due to Victoria Day:

  • Monday May 22 collection moves to Tuesday May 23
  • Tuesday May 23 collection moves to Wednesday May 24
  • Wednesday May 24 collection moves to Thursday May 25
  • Thursday May 25 collection moves to Friday May 26

Public Library
All library branches will be closed on Monday May 22, with regular operating hours returning on Tuesday May 23.

Lindsay Transit
There will be no Lindsay Transit or LIMO Specialized Transit service on Monday May 22.

Parks and Recreation
All Parks and Recreation facilities will be closed on Monday May 22 for Victoria Day. This includes the Administrative Office, all Recreation Centres, Arenas and Pools.

The Weight Room at the Lindsay Recreation Complex and Forbert Memorial Pool, Bobcaygeon will resume regular hours on Tuesday May 23.

No aquatic or fitness classes will take place on Saturday May 20 or Monday May 22.

Fireworks Use
Fireworks may only be used on the day before, the day of, and the day after the holiday (May 21 to 23). Per By-Law 2007-236, Victoria Day weekend is the first weekend of the year where consumer fireworks are permitted without the need for a permit.

If you notice someone having an out-of-control fire or unsafely setting off fireworks, please report it right away by calling 911. For all other non-emergency fire-related complaints, please call Kawartha Lakes Fire Rescue Service at 705-324-5731 and follow the prompts.
