OPP Releases Name Of Man Charged In Relation To Disturbance Call Involving Firearm In Fenelon Falls

KAWARTHA LAKES-The City of Kawartha Lakes OPP have released the name of the person arrested in Fenelon Falls yesterday afternoon, in relation to a firearm.

On May 15, 2023 shortly before noon, officers were dispatched to a disturbance call involving a firearm, on West Street South in Fenelon Falls. Officers contained the area as they investigated with the assistance of the local Crime Unit, Emergency Response Team (ERT), and the OPP Central Region Tactics and Rescue Unit (TRU)

Two local schools were placed on lockdown as a precaution.

As a result of the investigation Tyler Meredith, 25 years-of-age of Fenelon Falls was arrested and charged with:

  • Possession of Weapon for Dangerous Purpose
  • Pointing a Firearm
  • Fail to comply with Probation Order

The accused has been remanded into custody and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Lindsay on May 19, 2023.
