OPP And Fire Marshal Investigating After Seriously Burned Person Found Near Scene Of House Fire

KAWARTHA LAKES-Police and the Fire Marshal are trying to piece together what happened on Northern Avenue in Trent Lakes last night.

On May 11, 2023, at approximately 9:30pm, members of the Peterborough County OPP received a call in regard to a structure fire at a residence on Northern Avenue in the Municipality of Trent Lakes. Officers attended where fire crews were dealing with a fully engulfed structure fire.

A short distance from the fire scene, a person was located with serious burns and was transported to a trauma centre in Toronto.

The Office of the Fire Marshal was contacted and will be investigating.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
