Lindsay Square Mall Warning Customers Of “Drastic Increase” Of Women Being Followed And Filmed In The Area

KAWARTHA LAKES-The Lindsay Square Mall has sent a memo to tenants, customers and employees warning of a “drastic increase of young women being followed and videotaped in the area”. said mall manager Iris Wagg in a memo sent to store managers today. “There have been numerous occurrences of this happening at our shopping centre.”

According to Facebook posts, it has also been happening at the Canadian Tire and Loblaws in Lindsay as well as stores in Fenelon Falls.

In the memo, Wagg advised women to use the buddy system when walking to their vehicle or call mall security for an escort to their car if they feel unsafe.

Sources say there have been at least four such incidents reported in the last week alone at the mall.

We contacted Wagg for comment but were told to contact head office for comment. We have also contacted Kawartha Lakes Police Service who say they have had one reported incident.

“At this point, it was reported as suspicious, but nothing indicates that the complainant was actually targeted.” Inspector Tom Hickey told Kawartha 411 News.
